Hollyoaks star Daisy-Wood Davis has announced that she is pregnant

in a heartwarming video that has quite simply brought tears to our eyes.

The star, 33, is expecting her second child with Luke Jerdy,

who she met on the set of the soap and later married in 2022.

In an Instagram Reel montage of their life together so far,

Daisy showed clips from their wedding, their holiday and fun times with their first child, two-year-old Asa.

Teasing viewers to watch to the end, the Kim Butterfield actress was seen having a baby scan.

Captioning the video, Daisy said: ‘Today marks 8 years

together and 2 years married (we got married on our anniversary) and what a journey we are on… I really don’t know how I got so lucky.

‘Also want to send a message out to all our friends and family who came to our wedding, we love you all so much and are still blown away by all of you coming & bringing the biggest party to the south of Spain!

Co-stars and fans flocked to the post to congratulate Daisy and husband Luke, who played Jesse Donovan in the soap alongside her.

And, judging by the reception she has had this week over her parenting, baby number two is one lucky child.

After a couple of trolls criticised Daisy for allowing son Asa to wear a dress, she gave the ultimate clapback, and was widely praised by other parents who eagerly shared pictures and tales of their own children playing dress-up.

‘I feel so passionate about this, not just in case Asa wants to wear a dress one day but to make sure he is never the child who bullies or puts another down for being ‘different’ which seems to happen from such a young age it’s scary!’ she declared.

‘I can’t believe children’s innocence is taken away so early by gender normative views which doesn’t necessarily mean a homophobic parent is at home but it’s a parent that doesn’t care enough to actively bring it up and discuss it with their child. Rant over.’

Last month, Daisy shared her disappointment when the production of Bonne & Clyde The Musical she was starring in with Catherine Tyldesley was suddenly axed.

‘Absolutely devastated. This industry pulls some horrendous punches. I have had the time of my life the last few weeks.

‘Sending love to the whole Bonnie & Clyde team. We did not deserve this.’

In a difficult time for the industry, the soap that made her and Luke famous is also in the midst of turbulent times.

Hollyoaks recently confirmed around 135 job losses, with episodes being cut from five to three from September.
