SHOCKING TWIST!!! Farewell to Miley brings tears and goodbyes in Hollyoaks as Scott’s departure looms, leaving fans stunned

Hollyoaks spoilers follow for Friday’s (June 21) episode that is now available

to view on Channel 4 streaming. The episode in question will air on E4 on Monday June 24 at 7pm.

Miley Carson (Avy Berry), the foster daughter of Scott Drinkwell (Ross Adams),

has waved goodbye to the eponymous village as she was taken

away by a social worker to be reunited with her dad.

Scott broke down in tears, as did Freya Calder (Ellie Henry),

Vicky Grant (Anya Lawrence) and Maxine Minniver (Nikki Sanderson), as they said goodbye in emotional scenes.

Ross, who has played Scott on the Channel 4 soap since 2015, confirmed earlier this year to Metro.co.uk that he will be leaving the show, following news that episodes will be reduced to three come September time.

Having initially been offered a new contract, Ross told us in an exclusive interview that he was both equally nervous and excited to step away from the role – one which he would have happily continued – but was taking the channel’s announcement as a sign that it is time to spread his wings.

‘After playing Scott for so long, you do get comfortable. I’d have happily stayed there forever but I think sometimes you have to push yourself’ he said.

The soap star filmed his final scenes involving Avy last month.

Alongside a picture of them both holding a clapperboard, Ross told his 17,000 followers: ‘Feeling very emotional to have filmed my last scene with this little angel this morning. Thank you for being such a superstar Avy.

‘I can’t wait to watch you fly.’

The heartbreaking scenes aired over the past few days, with Thursday’s streaming offering proving to be Miley’s last, as she was led to her exciting new life by a social worker – but not before turning to give Scott a big way.

‘Bye uncle Scott!’, she exclaimed. ‘Love you.’

Not crying, I swear.

Scott’s exit has already been filmed and will air in the coming weeks. Metro confirmed earlier this week that, in a big shock, fan favourite Matthew James Bailey – who plays Ethan Williams – will also leave the show.

Jamie Lomas, who plays Warren Fox, is also set to leave, while Cindy Cunningham star Stephanie Waring confirmed that she is among those whose character has been axed in the cast cuts.

Hollyoaks streams weeknights at 7:30pm on Channel 4’s streaming platform, or catch episodes on TV at 7pm on E4.
