Former Hollyoaks star Callum Kerr has announced his new record deal after ‘two years’ of songwriting.
The actor, who played George Kiss on the soap, shared a
picture of him alongside two music producers in the studio.
‘Proud to announce that after just shy of two years writing, and a year of
releasing music here in Nashville, I’ve signed a record deal,’ he shared on Instagram.
‘A coalition between OneRPM (the label) and HuffCo (the records) spearheaded by
country award winning in-house producers @dannhuff and @davidhuffmusic
‘Can’t wait to show y’all what we’re working on and feeling beyond blessed to be involved.’
Fans rushed to congratulate the soap star with @chrismusicofficial replying: ‘Come on!!! Well deserved brother.’
@adambondofficial replied: ‘SO SO PROUD OF YOU BROTHER!!’
Callum’s character George was involved in a pretty heavy storyline before his departure.
The policeman was abusing and controlling boyfriend John Paul McQueen (James Sutton) for several months now, and recent scenes have seen him attempt to stop his beau from applying for a new job.
His methods involved him encouraging John to neglect his responsibilities under the guise of wanting to spend more time with him.
‘George is pretty childish,’ Callum told Metro.co.uk. ‘ He’s also very needy and wants John Paul’s attention at all times.
‘Any time John Paul looks like he’s got something better to do, it really frustrates George, and the way he deals with that is to make John Paul feel bad for doing whatever it is that he’s doing on his own.’
