Hollyoaks star David Tag has revealed that he is seeking help for a
painful condition after it got ‘progressively worse’.
Taking to Instagram, the Sylver McQueen actor detailed his struggle with varicose veins
to his 165k followers, after first noticing them 10 years ago.
David explained how he had ignored them for a long time, but they have grown
‘progressively worse over the last few years’, to the point that they have become ‘quite painful’.
He went on to show his painful varicose veins for the first time, before detailing
his trip to the Veincentre, where he was seeking treatment.
‘It’s time to do something about it now,’ David wrote in the caption of the video. ‘I’m taking a trip to the Veincentre to fix me up. I’m excited to see the results!’
In the clip, he explained how the operation had lasted for an hour, and that the treatment had ‘stung a little’.
He went on to reveal that he needed to wear special stockings for a week, and urged his followers to come back for an update once he was able to take them off.
David’s post encouraged others to open up about their own struggles in the comments of the post with many wishing him luck in his treatment and thanking him for being so open.
‘I hope you make a speedy recovery, David. You did the right thing going to get it sorted,’ one user wrote.

David is best known to Hollyoaks fans for playing Sylver McQueen between 2018 and 2022.
During his time on the soap, Sylver married his cousin Mercedes McQueen (Jennifer Metcalfe), and was eventually left to die by Bobby Costello (Jayden Fox) after being crushed in a building explosion.
