Poiler for Emmerdale: “HUGE Update: Emmerdale Episode
REARRANGED because of Euros Game Clash! Must-Watch Drama Alert!”
In an unexpected twist, ITV has announced a schedule reshuffle for Emmerdale
due to an overlap with the Euros. The much-anticipated episode originally set for Friday,
July 5, has been pushed back after ITV’s extensive coverage of the tournament.
Initially, the soap’s episode was moved to a later 8:30 p.m. slot, but the change faced further complications as Spain and Germany’s tense quarterfinal match extended into extra time.
Currently, ITV has not confirmed when the postponed episode will air. The episode, which was briefly available on ITX, has also been removed from the streaming service. Digital Spy has reached out to ITV for an official statement on the matter.
While Emmerdale fans were left disappointed by this unforeseen cancellation, Coronation Street managed to air its episode later at 9:00 p.m., despite the ongoing Euros coverage by the BBC. Fans took to social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, to express their frustration. One user vented, “F*** off did I wait all night for Emmerdale to be cancelled,” while another wrote, “Sick of football messing up the Soaps #Emmerdale taken off last minute and it’s not even on ITX.” Another viewer chimed in, “I don’t get why they can’t just have a sports channel and leave the Soaps alone. My mum is absolutely raging. She’s got me looking up what’s going on. First EastEnders, now Emmerdale.”
This scheduling chaos is part of a broader trend as broadcasters adjust their lineups to accommodate the Euro 2024 coverage. Throughout the tournament, certain episodes of Emmerdale will shift to an earlier 7:00 p.m. slot on ITV, including on Friday, July 12. Notably, the soap will not air on Wednesday, July 10, as ITV dedicates that evening to the second Euro semifinal. Emmerdale is expected to return to its regular 7:30 p.m. slot on Monday, July 8, Tuesday, July 9, and Thursday, July 11.
Fans should stay tuned for further updates on the rescheduled air date for the postponed episode. The Euros might have caused a hiccup in the soap’s regular programming, but the drama in Emmerdale promises to be worth the wait. Don’t miss out on the unfolding stories as Emmerdale continues to bring compelling narratives, despite the interruptions.
