Despite many plots happening in the Young Sheldon finale,

it still manages to explain the show’s most puzzling character disappearance. Missy’s conversation with Billy in the Young Sheldon finale reveals what happened to her ex-husband, Brenda Sparks.

Apparently, Brenda’s ex-husband just moved to New Jersey. His departure indirectly impacted George and Mary’s marriage negatively as it motivated Brenda to flirt with Sheldon’s dad.
