Oliver Farnworth To Star As ‘Brooding’ & ‘Mysterious’ John Sugden

Oliver Farnworth, formerly part of rival soap Coronation Street, is joining Dales next week. He is now heading to play John Sugden.

John will bring excitement and change to the Sugden family. Despite being one of the oldest families, Sugedens is now only left with Victoria Sugden and Andy’s daughter Sarah.

The actor described his character as ‘brooding and mysterious.’ In the upcoming week, he becomes deeply entwined in their history and even catches the eye of an unsuspecting resident. The soap star expressed his delight at joining the cast when discussing his arrival on the show.

He highlighted the show’s rich history and the central role of the Sugden family. He looked forward to bringing his character to life and working with the talented and dedicated team. Additionally, show producer Laura Shaw shared her enthusiasm for Oliver’s arrival.

She noted that introducing a new member to the Sugden family opens up exciting possibilities for future storylines. Shaw added, “Mysterious John’s arrival will no doubt create a stir in the village for Victoria and the wider community.” Meanwhile, the new soap boss, Sophie Roper, teased some exciting new and returning faces that would join the show in the coming months.
