Kim Tate (Claire King) is an expert in revenge and anyone who thinks they can best her is a fool, as both Ruby Fox-Miligan (Beth Cordingly) and Caleb (William Ash) are about to learn in Emmerdale.
‘I think Ruby would like to think [Kim’s] met her match. No, I don’t think she’s on a par with Kim, Kim could be a little bit more dangerous,’ Claire King proffered to Metro.co.uk, which just about says it all as to how things are going to go for Ruby.
Ruby’s plan to bring down Kim is about to blow up in her face, not least because Caleb is set to take the blame. Initially, at least.
Kim has been pushed out of Home Farm after being accused of spiking Dawn’s (Olivia Bromley) drink, but Kim suspects Rose (Christine Tremarco) is behind it and is on a mission to make her pay.
She drives to the outskirts of town to meet the same dealer Rose met with, and while he won’t give up her name, Kim twigs that Rose is not the one pulling the strings in this weird plan of hers.
Kim then sets her sights on Caleb and with the little information she has to go on, seemingly exacts the first part of her revenge. Caleb gets a visit from the police to tell him his work premises have been torched; they suspect arson and they suspect him.
But after Kim has a quick chat with Caleb, she realises he’s not her guy – Ruby is. She heads to Ruby’s house and has her suspicions confirmed when she spies a bottle of her very expensive brandy, nicked straight from Home Farm. Rookie error from Ruby there.
Kim tells Ruby they need a chat and Ruby instantly knows her game is up. But rather than feeling afraid of Kim, she boldly takes the moment to rub her nose in it – gleefully telling her that she’ll be watching with popcorn as Kim’s life implodes because her marriage is now over.
Vengeful Kim keeps her composure and fails to give Ruby the satisfaction she’s after, before being seen returning home. But shortly after, Home Farm gets a visit from the police – nothing to do with the arson, they’re performing a welfare check on Rose.
Her handbag has been found discarded and she appears to have gone missing.
Will and Kim look guilty – is Rose now buried in their back garden for what she’s done?
