The character portrayed by Isabella Flanagan looks significantly different from her previous appearance as a young child.

Devoted followers of the ITV soap will recall that Hope is the daughter of Fiz (played by Jennie McAlpine) and John Stape (Graeme Hawley) but has been brought up by her mother and stepfather Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall).

Hope first appeared on Corrie in 2010 as a premature baby, born three months early after her mother was involved in a horrific tram crash. Thankfully, both Fiz and Hope survived.

Her first year was marked by tragedy when her biological father John died before she turned one, reports the Mirror.

John had been fleeing following the deaths of Colin Fishwick, Charlotte Hoyle, and Joy Fishwick, when he lost control of his car, resulting in a fatal accident.

Fiz later reconciled with ex-boyfriend Tyrone, forming a blended family with his daughter Ruby in 2013.

Just when things seemed to be improving for the family of four, Hope faced health issues and was diagnosed with cancer.

At only four years old, Hope fought for her life and underwent treatment to combat the terrible disease. Fortunately, she managed to overcome her illness.

Given her tragic beginnings, it’s no surprise that Hope developed behavioural issues and in 2020, she attempted to run away with her half-sister Jade Rowan.

Jade concocted a false tale of abuse at home, which put immense stress on Tyrone, leading him to leave Fizz for Alina Pop (Ruxandra Porojnicu) the following year.

Alina, who was expecting Tyrone’s child and looking forward to starting their own family, tragically lost her baby when Hope started a fire at 2a Coronation Street.

Despite all the drama surrounding Hope on the famous cobbles, she is set to return to our screens, with soap spoilers hinting at a significant baby bombshell storyline.
