Former Coronation Street and Hollyoaks star Stephanie Davis has revealed that she messed up her boyfriend Joe McKalroy’s proposal plans.
The actor, who played Courtney Vance and Sinead O’Connor on the two soaps respectively, told OK! that she knows her partner so well that she figured out his surprise ahead of time – causing him to scrap his original idea.
The couple explained that they were on holiday in Majorca with Stephanie’s 7-year-old son Caben (from her previous relationship with her Celebrity Big Brother co-star Jeremy McConnell), where Joe shared his intention to pop the question.
She stated: “We’re so telepathic, we always say the same things at the same time. He said he knew where he wanted to pop the question and I read his mind. ‘We’ll walk down the pier on holiday and you’ll ask me there,’ I said. I totally ruined it!”
“That’s why I can’t say anything to Steph,” Joe added. “I need to keep quiet. But wherever we do it – home or abroad – we just want close family and friends. It’s all about the people.”
The pair, who have been dating since 2021, also recently announced that they were expecting their first child together.

“Joe and I just wanted it to be the two of us when we found out – it was so emotional,” Stephanie explained. “When the nurse said it was a boy, and the lights in the room went blue… it’s a moment we’ll remember for the rest of our lives…
“As my family say, I’m a cool boys mum. I’m a total pro at boys and all we want is a healthy baby. I’ll be ganged up on now though. Three against one.”
