Sean Wilson’s ‘lawyers involved’ as details emerge on Coronation Street crisis
It’s being reported Sean Wilson has now introduced lawyers in the aftermath of his sudden departure from Coronation Street.
Over the weekend, reports suggested the soap star may have been axed.
Sean, 59, appeared as Martin Platt in Corrie from 1985 to 2005 and was last seen on the soap six years ago.
His character is the father of Sarah and David and it was said in a press release from ITV that his return to the show was set to begin when David finds him at the house and immediately becomes suspicious of his motives for returning.
Not a lot else was revealed about his return to the soap, but the star had expressed his excitement.

It was announced on July 25 that he was set to return to the soap for Gail Platt’s (played by Helen Worth) final scenes as her time on the soap comes to an end.
The scenes which were set to be released in October had reportedly already been filmed, but ITV announced that the actor had ‘stepped down for personal reasons’.
However, a source has since told The Sun that the actor may have been given the boot: ‘It has come as a complete and utter shock to everyone – and his sudden exit has rocked everyone involved with Corrie.
‘Sean was loving his time on the show, and he was very popular on set. He had filmed scenes with loads of the cast, but then suddenly he was summoned to head office, and later it filtered out he wouldn’t be returning or his scenes airing, but no explanation offered.

‘Clearly it’s a major blow for bosses who must now find a new magical and happy ending for Helen – but they are confident they’ll pull it out of the bag, and give viewers something wonderful.’
Now though, a new update has revealed Sean left the ITV set ‘more than two weeks ago’ and is now involving ‘lawyers’ as things continue to develop.
‘Sean’s actually been gone for a while. It all happened more than two weeks ago, but a lot of people around the set didn’t know’, a source also told the publication.
‘The Sun’s story was the first many knew about it so it’s been quite a shock and now a big talking point – even among current and past cast members. Whatever it is, there are lawyers involved because the very senior bosses at Coronation Street are not allowed to discuss it.’
Metro.co.uk has contacted Sean’s representatives for a comment.
Following this news, it is rumoured Cold Feet and Fast Show actor John Thomson, 55, will be reprising his previous role as Jesse Chadwick to fill Sean’s shoes.
Speaking in a press release about his excitement at returning to the show, Sean previously said: ‘We’ll have a few months to catch up with Martin and Gail again, following the ebbs and flows of the unfolding storyline.
‘Playing Martin has been a joy since day one and in a way, I’ll be slipping back to where I left off, which no doubt will throw a spanner into the heart of the Platt family.
‘It’s just like slipping on an old and comfortable jumper from the back of the wardrobe …I’m looking forward to reuniting with my TV family.’
