Yellowstone’s Beth Dutton star Kelly Reilly has already lined up her next job after the hit western series finishes this November – and it’s a world away from the Dutton Ranch

Yellowstone is set to grace The Paramount Network and Paramount Plus for its final chapter this November, with Kelly Reilly returning as the formidable Beth Dutton. The concluding half of season five will be the series’ last, following Kevin Costner’s departure from the hit drama.

As Yellowstone draws to a close this November, British star Kelly has already committed to her next project, a new six-part Sky Original limited series titled Under Salt Marsh. This enthralling crime thriller unfolds in the made-up Welsh town of Morfa Halen.

In the series, Kelly portrays Jackie Ellis, an ex-detective who has become a teacher and stumbles upon the body of her young student, Cefin, apparently drowned. “The discovery sends shockwaves through the community, reviving the ghost of an unsolved cold case that rocked the town three years prior – the disappearance of Jackie’s niece, Nessa, which cost her career.”

The tragic event of Cefin’s death lures Jackie’s old colleague, Detective Eric Bull, back to spearhead the inquiry into a town he once let down. “Convinced the cases are linked, Jackie and Bull must reconcile and race to uncover long-buried secrets inside Morfa, before the storm breaks and all the evidence is gone for good.”

Kelly, a celebrated actress in theatre, film and TV, has been nominated for a 2023 Critics Choice Award for Best Actress in a Drama Series for her role in Yellowstone. This role, which catapulted her to international fame, also earned her a nomination for a 2022 SAG Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series and the 2022 MTV Television and Film Award for Best Performance in a Show.

It’s not her first time in a detective drama, having previously appeared in HBO’s True Detective. Audiences may also recognise her from the Sky Original series, Britannia.

Under Salt Marsh is the brainchild of Claire Oakley, who will also serve as the lead director on the project. The series, produced by Little Door Productions in association with Sky Studios, is set to begin filming later this year.
