Chris Harper turns down all the possibilities of bringing Nathan back. Is it really the end of the road? Coronation Street fans who have been keeping up with the soap know that Nathan had returned to the ITV soap when Lauren Bolton story was at it’s highest. Nathan returned and he started terrorising Bethany, but had to pay the price for his as well as someone else’s crimes when Joel Deering manipulated Lauren into putting all the blame on Nathan.

However, with the recent developments in the story, Joel has been taken into custody. He is being questioned and there is a huge probability that something big might be coming up for him. Ever since this possibility opened itself, fans have been wondering if that could mean return of Nathan on the soap opera. Recently, Chris Harper opened up about this possibility in a conversation with Digital Spy. 

Talking about it, Chris confirmed that he would NOT be coming back. “I’m definitely not going back” says the actor. However, he did ask fans to never say never. He believes that he does not want his storyline to be a forgiveness arc.

The whole storyline between him and Bethany is Bethany’s story, not his, and he would like to keep it like that. However, he pointed that if Sally Wainwright could write something between Joel and Nathan, he would be open to coming back.

He exclaimed about how he thinks it would be interesting if the character had some sort of closure. Many fans chimed in the sentiment. Would you also like to see Nathan and Joel going head to head?
