The new series of Big Brother kicked off on ITV2 last night – and soap fans may recognise housemate Emma from her appearances in Coronation Street and Emmerdale.
53 year old Emma Morgan was the second contestant to enter the famed dwelling, and should she avoid being evicted, will be under Big Brother’s watchful eye for the next six weeks.
The aesthetics business owner and former glamour model is from Altrincham, but originally hails from Essex.
During her introductory video, she said: ‘People ask me if I’m going to be the mother hen in the house – I might have times where I’m the mother hen but generally speaking I’ll be one of the girls. I don’t think I really act my age when I really should so I can’t see myself acting my age in Big Brother.’
With an average age of 28.6875 amongst her new roomies, Emma is the oldest of the bunch.

When each of the lucky sixteen entered the house, they were told to pick between two divided, coloured areas of the living room. It later transpired that those who chose the blue side were housemates, whilst those in red side were declared as non-housemate – meaning they will be sent to ‘storage’ and will face the first public vote.
Soapstar Emma has found herself amongst those in the red zone, so could be evicted this week.
Fans were quick to pick up on where they’d seen her before, with one taking to X to say: ‘Obsessed with the fact that Emma from Big Brother is a former Page 3 model who’s played a nurse in Coronation Street not once but twice.’
They also unearthed a clip of her working in Weatherfield General from January 2022, when her character called Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine) in for his angiogram, with a concerned Aggie Bailey (Lorna Laidlaw) watching on.
She appeared in the same role some four months earlier, when Imran Habeeb (Charlie De Melo) was hospitalised with a bloody nose after being punched by Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell).
Emma has also starred in Emmerdale, and has been signed to Manchester casting agency Mint since 2011.
On her LinkedIn profile she describes herself as an ‘Actress, tv Presenter, future Hollywood starlet!’, having obtained a Bachelor of Laws at the University of Westminster in 1997.
