Jack P Shepherd has delighted Coronation Street fans with an update on his love life. The ITV actor, best known for portraying the role of David Platt on the Cobbles, has shared the exact day that he will be getting married.
The star announced his engagement to long-term love Hanni Treweek, back in June, after he popped the question on a romantic ‘once in a lifetime’ safari trip. Now he has announced the day that they are set to say ‘I do’ – July 26, 2025.
Sharing a photo on Instagram that showcased Hanni’s stunning engagement ring and her beautifully manicured fingers as they held hands, the actor offered a glimpse of their ‘Save the Date’ cards.
The couple explained the inspiration behind the lovely artwork, featuring a skyline of their home city of Manchester, and expressed gratitude to the artist who created the cards. The charming images, depicting the couple each holding a glass of fizz to celebrate, were captioned: “When we thought about our save the dates, we wanted something unique that reflects our home in Manchester, where we fell in love and built our life together.
“If you look closely, @dave__draws murals are scattered throughout the city, and we couldn’t be happier with what Dave has created for us! Thank you for making something so special.”
Announcing the big news, they added: ” 26th July 2025 we become Mr & Mrs Shepherd!!”
Fans of the ITV soap flocked to the comments to wish the happy couple well. One wrote: “Over the moon for the both of you!! Congrats guys.”
Another excitedly added: “Omg best news ever! Can’t wait to see the dress and everything. Awwww,” with a third posting: “Congratulations guys, very happy for you both xx”.
Hanni and Jack also used Instagram to announce their engagement initially. In a joint post to announce the happy news, they shared images from their trip on a safari holiday.
Announcing the news alongside the pictures, Hanni wrote: “5.06.24 I said YES to forever!!!”
While discussing the search for the perfect proposal spot with friends Colson Smith and Ben Price on their On The Sofa podcast, the actor who plays David Platt revealed that he relied on his safari tour guide to help with the task.
He explained that, since they were surrounded by wild animals, it was crucial to find a location that was safe enough for him to step out of the jeep and get down on one knee.
Jack said: “He had to find a spot that was like, ‘Okay, we’re in the clear now, you can jump out.’ So we jumped out and ended up under this tree with a picnic, enjoying our lunch.”
Jack and Hanni have been together since 2017. She is a former Coronation Street researcher and storyliner, and the couple met through the show.
