BREAKING NEWS: Coronation Street George Shuttleworth star Tony Maudsley’s hidden role in Harry Potter😱😱

Tony Maudsley is best known for playing George Shuttleworth on ITV’s Coronation Street since 2020.

Tony Maudsley was a key player in the Harry Potter film series, although he is most remembered for his position as star of Coronation Street.

In September 2020, the actor debuted in the ITV serial opera as George Shuttleworth, who was first revealed to be the son of the late undertaker Archie Shuttleworth (played by Roy Hudd).

Tony made his screen debut over ten years prior in the fifth installment of the renowned Harry Potter film series, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, which was released on July 12, 17 years ago today.

Tony played the role of Grawp, the late Robbie Coltrane’s half-brother of Rubeus Hagrid. One of the primary enemies of the movie, Dolores Umbridge, was defeated with the help of Grawp, a gentle giant.

Imelda Staunton’s character Umbridge had a deep-seated resentment against “half-breeds” and became Headmistress after dismissing Michael Gambon’s character Professor Dumbledore.

In addition, she put Hagrid on probation, which made him ask Hermione Granger (Emma Watson) and Harry Potter (Danielle Radcliffe) to watch over his younger brother in case something happened to him.

Umbridge threatened to use Harry’s Cruciatus curse, but Hermione assured her that she would reveal Dumbledore’s “secret weapon.” They encountered Grawp in the Forbidden Forest after she brought the ruthless teacher there.

She was taken by a group of centaurs led by Grawp shortly after, and they pulled her farther into the forest. Tony previously stated to Female First about the role: “I was weighed down with these huge monster feet that were so heavy, that I could never get into the canteen and back in time.”

Tony outlined the reasons ITV executives won’t ever kill off George last year. Participating in ITV’s The Big Soap Quiz: Coronation Street vs Emmerdale, the Benidorm star addressed the issue.

Tony was joined by his Corrie co-stars, David Platt star Jack P Shepherd and Channique Sterling-Brown, who portrays Dee-Dee Bailey. Stephen Mulhern, the quiz master, questioned Tony about his character’s life after relocating to Weatherfield.

“Well, business is booming as always in Weatherfield,” the soap opera star retorted. The nicest thing about being George is that I have no one to bury me, therefore they can’t kill me! Thus, yes, I will remain where I am.”
