Coronation Street actress Ruxandra Porojnicu has teased a huge twist when Alina Pop returns to the Cobbles.

Alina was with Tyrone for some time, but he eventually decided to go back to his ex Fiz

and left her heartbroken. Amid a new storyline, Alina will make her return to the Cobbles –

but it’s bad news for Tyrone and Fiz as she has a baby.

Ruxandra will return next week and she said it was “wonderful” to be back, but did tease that an “unexpected” reunion with Fiz is no doubt set to cause chaos. Whilst Fiz and Tyrone are back on track now, their relationship over the years has been tumultous.

Speaking about her return, she said: “It feels wonderful. I love working with all the cast and crew, it’s definitely a big family who welcomed me back with their arms wide open! When she sees Fiz, it’s definitely unexpected, if she was able to avoid that she would’ve done it at all costs! She basically tries to get away from Fiz and Tyrone.

“She wanted to get away. She knew that if Tyrone knew, he would go after her and try to get access to their child. I think she wanted to get away, start again, give herself time to heal the wounds because we all know she’s been hurt quite a lot.”

Asked if there is a potential for a reunion between the pair, she added: “I think she will always care for [Tyrone] in one way or another, but deep down, she knew that Fiz is the love of Tyrone’s life and they are meant to be together. Even though it hurts Alina a little bit, that he never chose her, she is willing to let the past go.”

When she departed the Cobbles, actress Ruxandra Porojnicu posted a tribute to her colleagues. She wrote: “And that’s a wrap on Corrie! Thanks to everyone who encouraged and supported me.

“It meant so much. I worked with some of the finest people, who are not only extremely talented but very humble and caring. They made me feel welcome and a part of this beautiful family. TA EVERYONE! People up north are well nice.”

Alina has been mentioned a couple of times since her exit. Back in 2022, when Tyrone said he wanted to try a new skill, he signed up to taekwondo classes. As she started to tell everyone his plan, thinking it was hilarious, Sean soon reminded everyone that when Tyrone joined a yoga class, that was when things started going south for them and ended up falling in love with Alina.
