Coronation Street will give an update on Toyah Battersby’s health after

she found out she may have ovarian cancer. Following a positive pregnancy test result,

Toyah was told she wasn’t expecting a baby after all and that she could have cancer.

In upcoming scenes, the character will see her rift with her sister Leanne widening ahead of an important hospital appointment.

Desperate over Leanne’s involvement with The Institute cult, Toyah will make her frustrations known, but that’ll only draw her sister further away.

Despite having said she’d go with Toyah, Leanne backs out from accompanying her to the hospital.

Toyah is shocked when Leanne’s partner Nick Tilsley shows up to support her instead. This comes after the two slept together recently, with Leanne unaware of what’s been happening behind her back.

Toyah and Nick see the consultant together, will she receive some bad news? And will Leanne find out the truth?

Speaking about the dramatic storyline, Toyah star Georgia Taylor has teased that a proper affair may be on the cards for her character and Leanne’s long-term partner Nick.

“It’s a soap, so I would hope so! We have really wanted to make this an emotional affair, rather than just sex,” she explained.

Taylor said that passionate affairs have been seen “a million times in soap” and she’s hoping for Nick and Toyah’s bond to go “deeper” than that.

“So Ben [Price, who plays Nick] and I have really focused on trying to make it an emotional connection,” she said. “But again, what that means is that potentially the stakes are a lot higher.”
