Moira Dingle and Mackenzie Boyd face kidnapping charges as the intense storyline involving Samson Dingle unravels. Earlier this week, Moira promised to find a way to get Matty Barton out of jail after he was framed by Samson and Josh for a stabbing incident at the Hide. With Matty hospitalized from a brutal beating and facing relentless bullying from a prisoner named Robo, Moira enlisted her brother Mack to force Samson to confess.
In the dramatic episode on Thursday, July 11, Moira and Mack confronted Samson, dragging him out of Wishing Well Cottage to admit his wrongdoing. Samson eventually broke down as Moira reminded him of the abuse Matty has faced for being a trans man and his vulnerability to continuous torment in prison. Samson admitted that Josh coerced him into attacking Matty with a bottle at the Hide but believed it was futile to go to the police since Josh would deny it.
Mack flipped the situation, reminding Samson that if both he and Matty told the same story, Josh’s lies wouldn’t hold up. Under pressure from Mack and Moira, Samson agreed to go to the police station and retract his original statement. However, once they arrived, Samson convinced Moira to let him go in alone to take responsibility for his actions. Moira reassured him, “Don’t worry about Josh. If he wants to get at you, he’ll have to get through Cain.”
Later, PC Swirling arrived at the farm to reveal that Samson was pressing charges against Moira and Mack for kidnapping. “I’m arresting you,” PC Swirling announced, leaving Moira and Mack stunned by Samson’s betrayal. Will Moira and Mack end up in prison too?
