BREAKING NEWS: ITV Coronation Street’s cult storyline ‘confirmed’ to end after fan backlashđŸ˜±đŸ˜±

Coronation Street’s gripping cult plotline looks set to reach its climax in the near future.

At the start of this year, fans were introduced to the enigmatic “self-improvement group”

known as The Institute. The shadowy organisation, helmed by Rowan Cunliffe

(portrayed by Emhrys Cooper), quickly piqued the interest of Weatherfield’s own Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson).

Leanne was swiftly drawn into the fold – a move that sparked worry from her partner Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) and her sister Toyah Habeeb (Georgia Taylor), both of whom have voiced their unease about the situation.

Despite their concerns, The Institute has managed to entrap Leanne, who has even brought Amy Barlow (Elle Mulvaney) into its orbit.

Toyah, unaware of the full extent of Leanne’s involvement, doesn’t realise that Leanne has been divulging personal secrets to Rowan, which he then manipulates to his advantage. Meanwhile, Toyah is grappling with her own issues, reports the Express.

Toyah and Rowan on Corrie

Rowan’s caused plenty of drama

After opening up to Nick about the devastating loss of her stillborn daughter Rose, they found solace in each other’s company, leading to a one-night stand.

Rowan seized on witnessing their private moment and coerced Toyah into signing a non-disclosure agreement to silence her about the institute. Nonetheless, Toyah continues her covert inquiries into The Institute.

But it seems the controversial storyline, which has caused quite a stir among viewers, might be drawing to a close following backlash from the audience.

Emrhys Cooper, the actor behind the menacing Rowan, hinted at an exit by announcing on his Instagram Story that he’s set to star in an upcoming pantomime.

Emrhys is set to take on the role of Prince Fredrick in the St Helens Theatre Royal’s production of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

Given that the show runs from November 30, 2024 January 15, 2025, it’s likely that Emrhys will be absent from the ITV soap’s filming for two months.

Moreover, considering Corrie typically films about six weeks ahead, this could suggest that the cult storyline might wrap up around September.
