Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) was rocked by a huge discovery in recent EastEnders scenes, and it had nothing to do with Dean Wicks (Matt Di Angelo).
Dean has been at the forefront of Linda’s mind ever since his return to Albert Square last October, and her plan to frame him for the murder of Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters) has yet to free her from him in the way she’d hoped.
Linda has been struggling with her guilt since stabbing Keanu on Christmas Day 2023, and Dean’s presence on the Square only heightened her anguish, resulting in her falling back into the clutches of alcoholism.
With Dean negatively affecting a number of people on the Square, The Six decided to frame him for their crime, with Linda claiming that she saw him moving Keanu’s body on Christmas Night.
Because of this, she is now the prosecution’s star witness – something that has been worrying her for several weeks.
Linda has been so distracted by the pending court case, that her care of daughter Annie has slipped – something that she discovered during a difficult chat with her dentist.
After a routine appointment, Annie’s dentist revealed that her dental hygiene was in bad condition, and she would have to have four teeth removed.

Linda was horrified, and later admitted to Johnny Carter (Charlie Suff) and Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe) that there had been multiple occasions that she had forgotten to brush Annie’s teeth.
Realising how distracted she had been in recent weeks, Linda confessed to Johnny that this was the wake up call she needed to stop drinking.
However, in order to do that, she explained that she needed to be free of Dean completely – which meant accepting his deal.

The previous day, Linda had received a visit from one of Dean’s contacts, who explained that he was willing to offer her a deal: He would confess to raping her if she dropped her statement against him in relation to Keanu’s murder.
Wanting him out of her life for good, Linda insisted that she was willing to take the deal, no matter the risks.
