Coronation Street fans saw Tracy Barlow leave the ITV soap again, the second time in months, with Kate Ford taking some time away from the

show – but will she be back?

Kate Ford appeared to leave Coronation Street as Tracy Barlow on Monday night, just weeks after a return to the ITV soap.

Tracy had returned to Weatherfield after a row with new lover Tommy Orpington, who she moved to Spain to be with earlier this year. After more than two decades on the show, fans feared Tracy was gone for good – until actress Kate reprised the role weeks ago.

But on Friday night it was revealed Tracy would be leaving again, with Kate already filming her final scenes after reports her comeback would be brief for the time being. She was heard telling daughter Amy Barlow she had reconciled with Tommy, the love of her life.

She planned to head back to Spain to be with him, confirming this with her loved ones. On Monday night Tracy said her goodbyes, as revealed in spoilers.

Her ex-husband Steve McDonald drove her to the airport, as she said farewell to Amy and dad Ken Barlow. She also encouraged Steve to move on with newcomer Cassie Plummer, before exiting the street.

This was Kate’s final episode for now as Tracy, with it reported that her current stint was temporary – with fans now wondering if she has gone for good. But fear not soap fans, as it seems Tracy will be back.

It’s believed Kate is only taking another temporary break just like earlier this year, ahead of a return. It’s been reported that a full-time comeback is planned for next year if not at least a longer return.

The soap has yet to address when Kate will reprise her role and how long for, and what the return storyline will be. Her ex Steve, who she cheated on with Tommy, appeared to be ready to move on after learning she planned to leave again.

He didn’t seem all that bothered amid a possible new romance with Ken’s carer Cassie. It’s clear the pair like each other but they recently clashed, when Steve ditched her for a former flame. But will Steve and Cassie get together now that Tracy is out of the picture once more?
