There’s a dramatic week ahead for Matty Barton (Ash Palmisciano) in Emmerdale, as he faces a terrifying situation in prison, having been incarcerated for accidentally stabbing Samson Dingle (Sam Hall).
Samson himself is set to cause trouble among the family as he plans to go away with new friend Josh Cope (Osian Morgan), much to the horror of Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb).
Can she convince a family member to help her out?
Meanwhile, Caleb Miligan and Ruby Fox-Miligan (William Ash and Beth Cordingly) disagree over son Nicky Miligan (Lewis Cope).
Elsewhere, Evan’s condition causes concern for Dawn Fletcher (Olivia Bromley) and causes tension between her and husband Billy (Jay Kontzle), and Kim Tate and Rose Jackson (Claire King and Christine Tremarco) are forced to step up and help out
Matty is slightly more hopeful having established that Les his cell mate has accepted him as a trans man and is happy to relay this to Amy when she visits. He is delighted to hear they have a new solicitor and is left hopeful he could be out of prison soon.
As visiting time ends, Amy’s glad Matty is more positive. As she watches him go, she’s approached by Robbo, who she mistakes for Les. Unfortunately Robbo’s sympathetic front gets the truth about Matty from Amy, who is oblivious to the danger she has now put her husband in.
Matty returns to his cell as Les leaves to see his solicitor. Once he’s gone, Robbo arrives into the cramped cell, and Matty’s blood runs cold to discover this thug has spoken to his wife.
Meanwhile, upbeat Amy arrives home to tell them about Matty’s positive attitude. Matty is trapped in his cell and terrified when Robbo reveals he’s learnt the truth and the menacing transphobe closes in on him.
Moira is shocked to hear about Sarah and Josh’s ongoing courtship but seething to hear Josh and Samson’s intention to leave for their European trip sooner than before. Moira vows to stop them.
