The August 30, 2024, episode of Coronation Street marked the end for a rather entertaining character – Beth Tinker. It was sad to see her fall off the canvas, but as the saying goes, all good things must come to an end. The actress, Lisa George, too seems to have taken her exit in her stride.
The spoilers confirm that Beth Tinker left Weatherfield due to wicked Kit Green’s incessant blackmailing to end her son Craig’s career. Seeing no other choice in sight, Beth put the town in the rare-view mirror. This also marked the end of the journey for her portrayer Lisa George on the soap.
Lisa George took to her official Instagram account to share a goodbye message with her fans. “Never did I think all those years ago that two episodes would turn into over a decade of my life on screen, but in the blink of an eye it’s passed like no time at all,” she wrote reminiscing the 13 years she has played Beth on the soap.
Furthermore, she also shared that she feels honored to have been part of “such an institution for so long.” Lisa also mentioned that over the years she has worked with the most incredible cast and crew members, who have made going to work every day such a special joy for her. “It’s near impossible to summarise the experiences I’ve had playing Beth, so many moments of Weatherfield that I’ll cherish forever,” she asserted.
Lisa also took the opportunity to extend her heartfelt appreciation to all her fans who showered her with so much love and unwavering support over the years. It truly feels like the end of an era! However, as we mentioned earlier, the actress is taking the exit in her stride. She asserted that even though she is leaving the soap with tears in her eyes, she is excitedly looking forward to the next chapter in her life.
