The planned Yellowstone spinoff series, The Madison, saddles up with new casting additions to join lead star Michelle Pfeiffer. One of the top stars of the hit drama series, Suits, headlines the list of new actors set to feature on the Western drama show.
Per The Hollywood Reporter, Patrick J. Adams will appear in The Madison, portraying a young investment banker named Russell McIntosh. According to the official character description, Russell is a character “who has followed the life path set before him from the start.” Adams is one of three confirmed additions to the cast, with The Good Doctor‘s Beau Garrett and Florida Wild‘s Elle Chapman also included. Garrett will play Abigail Reese, a “resilient and sardonic New Yorker, who is a recently divorced mother of two.” Meanwhile, Chapman makes her small-screen debut as Paige McIntosh, a “somewhat self-centered woman who indulges in a luxurious New York lifestyle provided by her parents and investment banker husband.”
Fans best know Adams for playing an unlicensed lawyer, Michael James Ross, in Suits, the acclaimed NBC legal drama that ran for nine seasons and earned him a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination. However, he is not expected to feature in the upcoming spinoff starring Stephen Amell, Suits: L.A. The Canadian actor most recently appeared on TV on the CBC drama series, Plan B.
The Madison Serves as a Sequel to Yellowstone
The Madison is the first sequel series in Taylor Sheridan’s Yellowstone-verse, with the show described as “a heartfelt study of grief and human connection following a New York City family in the Madison River valley of central Montana.” The Madison, which is set in the present day following the events of Yellowstone,was originally titled 2024 and set to star Oscar winner Matthew McConaughey in the lead role before changing course.
The shift from 2024 to The Madison was confirmed in August, with Pfeiffer announced in the leading role. Pfeiffer plays the mother of Garrett and Chapman’s characters in the series, with the Marvel Cinematic Universe actor executive producing the show alongside Sheridan. Along with Pfeiffer and the newly-announced editions, The Madison is also expected to feature familiar faces from Yellowstone, while Kurt Russell has also been linked to the show. Pfeiffer’s most recent TV role was as Betty Ford in Showtime’s The First Lady. She was last seen in the MCU’s Phase Five opener, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, reprising her role as Janet Van Dyne/Wasp.
The Madisonis one of two Yellowstone sequel series in development at Paramount, alongside 1944. The main Yellowstone series is set to end soon, with Season 5B rounding out the award-winning show beginning with its Nov. 10 premiere.
