There’s another disappointing night for soap fans ahead as ITV are airing
coverage of Euro 2024 instead of Emmerdale.
Luckily, with the television schedules all over the place, Metro.co.uk
has got you covered with everything you need to know, so let’s take a look!
To save you tuning into ITV this evening and expecting a trip to the Dales,
we’ve got a look at what it’s being replaced with, and when you can next see it on your screens.
Plus a full guide to any future replacements for both of their flagship soaps…
What is replacing Emmerdale on ITV1 tonight?
Tonight (25th June), following a shorter ITV Evening News, England vs Slovenia will air on ITV1 from 6:45pm. Kick off is at 8pm, as both sides play their final Group C game from the Cologne stadium.
Note that France vs Poland airs tonight, too, but on BBC One from 4:30pm, pushing EastEnders to BBC Two. .
The UEFA European Football Championship 2024 (or Euro 2024 as its known) takes place every four years, though the last one was held in 2021 due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
The first game of the group stages kicked off last Friday, June 14th – so expect plenty of disruption for the next few weeks (more on this later!)
When will we next see Emmerdale on our screens?
There’s no Emmerdale until Thursday (27th June), at 7:30pm.
Laurel (Charlotte Bellamy) becomes suspicious when Pollard (Chris Chittell) neglects to pay for his drinks at The Hide and sends her to speak to husband Jai(Chris Bisson) about it.
Will he confess his involvement in what happened with Amit (Anil Goutam)?

Elsewhere, Dawn (Olivia Bromley) and Evan return to Home Farm from the hospital, but she is soon hit with paranoia at the thought of the kids seeing their baby brother, and Billy (Jay Kontzle) worries about her overprotectiveness.
Plus, there’s fresh fears for Matty (Ash Palmisciano) when he gets a new cellmate…
Will there be any further disruption?
Unfortunately so.
Luckily, ITVX have followed BBC iPlayer’s lead by adding episodes onto their streaming service from 7am on the morning of broadcast, so that you have some freedom on when you want to watch them.

What is the fan reaction?
Understandably, Emmerdale viewers are not impressed by the changes and have sparked fury on X/Twitter in response.
‘For goodness sake i love watching emmerdale with my tea’ said one fan.
Another added: ‘Why has every game got be broadcast? Why not just show games that involved the home nations and put the rest on your sister channels? Or do what the BBC does with Eastenders and put both Emmerdale & Corrie temporarily on another channel so viewers can get their usual fix?’
‘Just not good enough’ fumed another.
