Moira Dingle and Mackenzie Boyd are facing kidnapping charges as part of Samson Dingle’s intense storyline on Emmerdale. Earlier this week, Moira vowed to get Maddie Barton out of jail after he was framed by Samson and Josh for a stabbing at the Hide. With Maddie hospitalized after a brutal beating and bullied by fellow prisoner Robo, Moira enlisted her brother Mack to help force Samson to confess.
In the Thursday, July 11 episode, Moira and Mack confront Samson, dragging him out of Wishing Well Cottage to admit his wrongdoing. Under pressure, Samson breaks down as Moira reminds him of the abuse Maddie has faced as a trans man and his vulnerability to relentless torment in prison. Samson admits that Josh forced him to attack Maddie with a bottle at the Hide but insists there’s no point in going to the police because Josh would deny it.
Mack counters, reminding Samson that if he and Maddie told the same story, it wouldn’t matter if Josh tried to lie. Reluctantly, Samson agrees to go to the police and retract his original statement. Upon arriving at the station, Samson convinces Moira to let him go in alone, claiming he needs to take responsibility for his actions. Moira assures him that if Josh wants to retaliate, he will have to go through Cain.
However, things take a shocking turn when PC Swirling arrives at the farm later to reveal that Samson is pressing charges against Moira and Mack for kidnapping. “I’m arresting you,” PC Swirling announces, leaving Moira and Mack stunned by Samson’s double-cross. Will Moira and Mack end up in prison as well?
