Joel Deering’s past and abusive activities are finally catching up with him on Coronation Street. The man who was looking forward to tying the

knot with the love of his life is now facing the start consequences of his actions. But what will these consequences ultimately be? Jailtime, or

death? The latest spoilers give us a huge hint at what’s coming next for the villain.

The September 27, 20204, episode showed Dee-Dee reflecting on how Joel and her life have changed almost overnight.She broke off their relationship after learning everything that he did to teenager Lauren Bolton. She laments at how her supposed wedding day has turned into the day for Joel’s hearing.

However, Swain, Lauren, and Dee-Dee become concerned when Joel Deering does not show up for the hearing, and the judge issues an arrest warrant for him. Later, Joel shows up drunk at Roy’s Rolls and startles Roy Cropper. In a shocking twist, instead of lashing at Roy, he cries and apologies for his actions that caused Roy’s arrest previously.

“My guilt has taken over me. I feel like I’m suffocating,” he cries to Roy. The older gentleman then urges Joel to surrender himself to the law and make penance. However, Joel flies in a fit of rage and tears the phone off the cafe wall, and smashes it, leaving Roy terrified and shaking in his shoes.

Later, he gets into his car and breaks down in tears, reveal Coronation Street spoilers. As he looks at himself in the mirror we see a big wound on his face. How did he get injured, is it self-inflicted? He then proceeds to leave a voice message to Dee-Dee, telling her that he still loves her a lot. “I know there’s no way back after… after everything, but maybe, maybe there’s something I can still do to make you, and everyone else, happy,” he cried. “I’m so sorry. Bye.”

The spoilers for next week reveal that DS Swain hears the message on Dee-Dee’s phone and concludes that Joel has perhaps taken his own life. But has he?
