TRAGIC Dying Paul Foreman given devastating news as he faces his final weeks in Coronation Street

PAUL Foreman is to receive heartbreaking news in upcoming Coronation Street scenes.

The character has been battling motor neuron disease (MND) – a rare condition which affects the brain and nerves.

It comes as Peter Ash, who has played the role of Paul since 2018, is set to exit the long-running ITV soap.

In scenes yet to air, Paul is set to experience further heartbreak.

Upon visiting the flat, an occupational therapist informs the builder that the stairlift is now too dangerous to use.

This means the character now can no longer leave the safety of his home.

Despite this, Paul’s husband Billy (Daniel Brocklebank) tells him they will leave the flat one last time tomorrow and can do whatever he fancies.

Emotional scenes follow the two men doing the things that Paul loves and wants to do whilst he still can.

Paul’s health struggles aren’t the only dramatic storyline in his family, with long-lost half brother Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) now re-entering the picture.

Kit, a police detective, is the biological son of Bernie Winter (Jane Hazlegrove), who was given up for adoption.

First appearing in May, he has already set up vile groomer Nathan Curtis (Christopher Harper) to be blamed for Lauren Bolton’s (Cait Fitton) alleged murder.

Meanwhile, Paul and his twin sister Gemma (Dolly-Rose Campbell) have only recently learned of the policeman’s true identity.

Ahead of his exit, actor Peter Ash paid tribute to his on-screen partner Daniel Brocklebank while speaking at the RadioTimes.com Soap Awards.

Peter said: “Working with Daniel from day one has been amazing. We have so much fun.

“And yeah, obviously because he has a personal connection to MND, he’s a great source of information and insight.

“And I’ll very much miss working with him.”

Coronation Street Spoilers: News & Cast Updates

Daniel, 44, spoke exclusively to The Sun at last year’s NTAs about his real-life link to the storyline.

The star revealed: “My grandfather died of Motor Neuron Disease and I have been an ambassador for the MND Association for the last 23 years.

“The subject is very close to my heart, I’m hoping that we are doing it justice and bringing a lot of awareness to such a cruel disease.”
